SUEDE
One of the most consistently soft leather articles available, suede is technically a split leather. Split, meaning it has been separated from the full grain, fleshy, piece of hide, allowing for a smooth, and uniform look and feel in every pair of boots. It’s always soft out of the box creating a true, zero break-in boot every time. It will mold in appearance to each consumer’s use, offering unique natural burnishing and wear marks with time. We do not recommend suede boots for riding or ranch work.

CARE
Regular cleaning will help suede boots last longer. Be sure to let boots dry after exposure to wet conditions. Use a horsehair boot brush to remove debris before cleaning the leather. Never condition the leather. We recommend Bickmore’s Suede & Nubuck Cleaner or a suede eraser.

      SINCE 1875

THE INVENTOR OF THE COWBOY BOOT

In 1875, a rancher walked into C.H. Hyer’s cobbler shop after a long cattle drive. He asked C.H. to build him a better shoe for spending long days in the saddle.

The result? C.H. created a purpose-built boot with a tapered toe, raised heel, tall shaft, and a scalloped opening. The unmistakable silhouette known around the world as the Cowboy Boot.

      All your Boot Questions Answered

Choose your normal shoe size. HYER boots fit true to US sizing.
      ■ Be conscious of your sock – thin or thick. This can make a difference when trying on boots.
      ■ In between sizes - we recommend the ½ size larger.
      ■ Narrow foot – we recommend to either size down or choose your true size in regular width (size B for women’s and size D for men’s).
      ■ Wide foot – we recommend to either size up or choose the wide widths available (size C for women’s, and size EE for men’s).
      ■ Your size should fit the same across all silhouettes.

The fit of our styles are traditional and straightforward. There should be very slight resistance when pulling them on
and zero resistance once you’re “through the turn”.
      ■ You should feel slippage in the heel area and comfortable conformity in the instep.
      ■ Both toe profiles are most common and stylish today in authentic western and the most comfortable for everyday use.
      ■ These styles were made for the working cowboy and cowgirl while keeping modern function and diverse use in mind.
      ■ HYER boots fit true to size. When deciding what size, you should go off your normal shoe size.

Please refer to our Fit & Size Guide

It is best to try boots on carpet so that the soles do not scuff should you need to return.
      ■ Slip your foot into the boot. You should feel a POP when your heel slides past the counter and onto the insole.
      ■ Validate the heel lift. You should be able to lift your heel but not a whole lot. The leather will shape to your heel and hold it in place over time.
      ■ The ball of your foot should hit the widest section of the boot for added comfort.
      ■ Your arch should feel a bit snug. The leather will stretch as the boot forms to your foot.
      ■ Check the flawless fit and comfort by walking around!

Traditional and durable method used in crafting footwear. It involves stitching a welt (a strip of leather) to both the
upper and insole of the boot.
      ■ Just as cowboy boots were originally made by HYER in 1875, Goodyear welt is still the prime construction for well-made, long-lasting boots.
      ■ These 3/4 welt versions include wood pegs and nails, they both secure the hand-placed shank and add stability.

Yes, we offer free returns and exchanges for unworn items at HYER Boots.

        I can't believe it's not leather!

The sole of these boots are amazing. You can tell these were designed to feel exactly like a full leather outsole. Def my new favorites until I get a full leather pair.

Really like them, just a few notes

I purchased these boots primarily because of the color, although I wasn’t looking forward to the rubber sole. However, I’ve found that I don’t mind it. It appears to be well made, and you really have to look closely to tell that it’s rubber.

I was also scratching my head over the combination of a “work sole” with suede rather than roughout leather. Again, I purchased the boots for the colorway, but those two features still don’t quite make sense to me. Suede is more delicate and less hard-wearing than roughout leather.

My second note concerns the width of the shaft. Of the 11 pairs of boots I own from various brands, this is the only pair whose shafts show through my jeans even when I’m wearing Kimes, Cinch, or Ariat jeans. I noticed it immediately, but I fell in love with the look and fit and eventually got over it. However, people who wear modern or slimmer fit jeans may find that the shafts show/imprint quite a bit.

        Superior build.

Made in Mexico and built like a tank while feeling and looking like new money. These are what other brands should strive to be.
