AMERICAN BISON
American bison stands the test of time with whatever gets thrown at it. It’s a heavier weight, soft and reliable skin that is perfect for tough work. It’s also a great crossover leather that fits in wherever you wear it.

CARE
Regular cleaning and conditioning will help American bison leather boots last longer. Be sure to let boots dry after exposure to wet and muddy conditions. Use a horsehair boot brush or a clean damp cloth to remove debris before cleaning and conditioning the leather. We recommend Bickmore’s Bick 4 Leather Conditioner.

      All your Boot Questions Answered

Choose your normal shoe size. HYER boots fit true to US sizing.
      ■ Be conscious of your sock – thin or thick. This can make a difference when
      trying on boots.
      ■ In between sizes - we recommend the ½ size larger.
      ■ Narrow foot – we recommend to either size down or choose your true size in
regular width (size B for women’s and size D for men’s).
      ■ Wide foot – we recommend to either size up or choose the wide widths
available (size C for women’s, and size EE for men’s).
      ■ Your size should fit the same across all silhouettes.

The fit of our styles are traditional and straightforward. There should be very slight resistance when pulling them on
and zero resistance once you’re “through the turn”.
      ■ You should feel slippage in the heel area and comfortable conformity in the instep.
      ■ Both toe profiles are most common and stylish today in authentic western and the most comfortable for everyday use.
      ■ These styles were made for the working cowboy and cowgirl while keeping modern function and diverse use in mind.
      ■ HYER boots fit true to size. When deciding what size, you should go off your normal shoe size.

Please refer to our Fit & Size Guide

It is best to try boots on carpet so that the soles do not scuff should you need to return.
      ■ Slip your foot into the boot. You should feel a POP when your heel slides past the
      counter and onto the insole.
      ■ Validate the heel lift. You should be able to lift your heel but not a whole lot. The leather
will shape to your heel and hold it in place over time.
      ■ The ball of your foot should hit the widest section of the boot for added comfort.
      ■ Your arch should feel a bit snug. The leather will stretch as the boot forms to your foot.
      ■ Check the flawless fit and comfort by walking around!

Traditional and durable method used in crafting footwear. It involves stitching a welt (a strip of leather) to both the
upper and insole of the boot.
      ■ Just as cowboy boots were originally made by HYER in 1875, Goodyear welt is still the prime construction for
      well-made, long-lasting boots.
      ■ These 3/4 welt versions include wood pegs and nails, they both secure the hand-placed shank and add stability.

Yes, we offer free returns and exchanges for unworn items at HYER Boots.

Hyer is my new go to

My new everyday wear. Great quality control on these boots (Hyer Hays). Out of the box, these boots were perfect, no mars, no dropped stitching (the seven stitch on the goat leather quarters makes them very pliable and comfortable), the bug on the vamp looks great and lets them bend easily. Once again, out of the box, I wore them for six hours and at the end I had no hot spots on my feet. Break-in? What break-in? I know that with time these boots will become even comfortable, if that is possible. Great job Hyer.

        Excellent boot

I bought these under the influence of a city-wide hangover a couple weeks after the Miles City, MT Bucking Horse Sale. As it was in to 90s pretty much the entire time I was there, there weren't many opportunities to break these in. After heading home and returning to work (where I wear safety-toed Ariat exclusively), I decided to bring these along. The sole gets roughed up quickly for better traction and it's amazing how quickly both of these boots conform to your foot. You may need a heel puller(? put your heel in the U to pull it off?) the first few wears, but it's worth it. Excellent fit and they look great. Thank you!
