ROUGHOUT
True roughout leather boots, much like a cowboy’s good roughout saddle, are simply utilizing the reverse side of a natural, full grain leather. It offers all the durability of a full grain leather, but produces a much punchier, and old school cowboy look. The leather will attract dirt and dust and naturally burnish from wear, making each pair of boots unique to its owner in time.

CARE
Regular cleaning will help roughout boots last longer. Be sure to let boots dry after exposure to wet and muddy conditions. Use a horsehair boot brush to remove debris before cleaning the leather. Never condition the leather. We recommend Bickmore’s Suede & Nubuck Cleaner or a suede eraser.

      SINCE 1875

THE INVENTOR OF THE COWBOY BOOT

In 1875, a rancher walked into C.H. Hyer’s cobbler shop after a long cattle drive. He asked C.H. to build him a better shoe for spending long days in the saddle.

The result? C.H. created a purpose-built boot with a tapered toe, raised heel, tall shaft, and a scalloped opening. The unmistakable silhouette known around the world as the Cowboy Boot.

      All your Boot Questions Answered

Choose your normal shoe size. HYER boots fit true to US sizing.
      ■ Be conscious of your sock – thin or thick. This can make a difference when trying on boots.
      ■ In between sizes - we recommend the ½ size larger.
      ■ Narrow foot – we recommend to either size down or choose your true size in regular width (size B for women’s and size D for men’s).
      ■ Wide foot – we recommend to either size up or choose the wide widths available (size C for women’s, and size EE for men’s).
      ■ Your size should fit the same across all silhouettes.

The fit of our styles are traditional and straightforward. There should be very slight resistance when pulling them on
and zero resistance once you’re “through the turn”.
      ■ You should feel slippage in the heel area and comfortable conformity in the instep.
      ■ Both toe profiles are most common and stylish today in authentic western and the most comfortable for everyday use.
      ■ These styles were made for the working cowboy and cowgirl while keeping modern function and diverse use in mind.
      ■ HYER boots fit true to size. When deciding what size, you should go off your normal shoe size.

Please refer to our Fit & Size Guide

It is best to try boots on carpet so that the soles do not scuff should you need to return.
      ■ Slip your foot into the boot. You should feel a POP when your heel slides past the counter and onto the insole.
      ■ Validate the heel lift. You should be able to lift your heel but not a whole lot. The leather will shape to your heel and hold it in place over time.
      ■ The ball of your foot should hit the widest section of the boot for added comfort.
      ■ Your arch should feel a bit snug. The leather will stretch as the boot forms to your foot.
      ■ Check the flawless fit and comfort by walking around!

Traditional and durable method used in crafting footwear. It involves stitching a welt (a strip of leather) to both the
upper and insole of the boot.
      ■ Just as cowboy boots were originally made by HYER in 1875, Goodyear welt is still the prime construction for well-made, long-lasting boots.
      ■ These 3/4 welt versions include wood pegs and nails, they both secure the hand-placed shank and add stability.

Yes, we offer free returns and exchanges for unworn items at HYER Boots.

The boots are excellent on true fit to size. They are made especially well down to the last stitch. I am extremely pleased with the quality and expect the boots will last for years. I would not hesitate to order again from HYER Boots!

It's a little tight, but that could mean my fault. It probably need a wider deal, but they've been good. They stretched out, they're fitting more and more comfortable. The more I wear them, they're coming off. Easier. Now I have enjoyed Em so much so far. Hopefully the last only had them less than a week

        Best boot I’ve owned

These boots fit like a glove out of the box. I love the hybrid sole too, you get a lot of comfort without too much grip on the stirrups for those who ride.

Worth every penny & ready to punch some cows!

Bought these expecting good boots and got great ones. The fit was right out of the box with almost no break-in, and the leather has held up beautifully through daily wear. Clean lines, solid construction, and they look as good with jeans as they do with a suit. Hyer clearly still cares about craftsmanship. I’ll be back for another pair to add to my Hyer collection.

I’ve had a couple of pairs of Hyer boots

I’ve always bought a size 10D and they have been perfect but this pair , the throat is pretty tight putting them on and then they are a little loose fitting like almost a half size to big.
